Appreciating 9/11 First Responders

Sep 7, 2021 | Akasha Appreciation Day

New York First Responders

Saturday, September 11, 2021 will mark the sad anniversary of the 20th year since the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City.  As we reflect and remember those whose lives were taken that day and upon those who were severely injured, we also remember those who ran into the building to rescue those they could, the New York City Fire Department. These courageous men and women carried people down countless flights of stairs in the dark, provided a way out of the tangled remnants of the buildings and then would go back in to save more lives.

Many of the rescuers worked day and night searching for survivors under the rubble, breathing in toxic poisons that for years later would cause these heroes various cancers and devastating illnesses.

We send our appreciation, prayers and our love to these valiant men and women and we remember the hope they inspired in our hearts to focus on the good in people, when faced with the worst.
