Pride, Love and Sacrifice – (A Tribute to Johnny Cash’s “Ragged Old Flag”)

My husband, Stephen, and I painted this together after discovering the story behind the song “Ragged Old Flag” by Johnny Cash for our local art show called “The Art of Binghamton Art Show”
A local Veteran, a random stroll around our local courthouse square, and a brief conversation between two men impacted Johnny Cash enough to write his song of American pride, sacrifices made, battles fought, warriors returned home, and a flag that withstood it all. His song impacted a nation in one of its darker hours and also touched the hearts of many around the world.
We were very proud to give my home town of Binghamton NY, and the world, a lasting memory of the beautiful song created by the Man in Black.
